Psychotherapist, Author, Podcast co-host and Teacher. My main focus is developmental trauma and addictions, which I explore through somatic work. I offer individual sessions, but my passion lies in group work, where I experience the full power of collective connection on healing. That is probably the reason why I love to also collaborate with other professionals through trainings and supervision. Sharing what I learn is an important dimension of my work.
My father is Portuguese and my mother is Italian. I’ve lived in both countries, and both weave deeply into my soul. Intercultural exchanges bring a richness to my life. I’m enlivened and defined by appreciating differences. My professional backgrounds is varied: film producer, university teacher, entrepreneur and finally, psychotherapist. It is in my psychotherapeutic work where I’ve found my place to contribute to a more awakened, loving, and humane world while I continue to grow as a human being.
I’m an Hakomi therapist (Mindful Somatic Psychotherapy). The Right Use of Power shed light on power dynamics in my practice, especially the importance of roles and accompanying responsibilities. It has had a huge influence on my self-perception and on my understanding of relationships, and given me tools to step into my power and take my place in the world. Being in positions of power as both a therapist and a teacher I have been able to incorporate my increased understanding around misuses of power into how I practice, and give recognition to these important and impactful issues.
